Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Bill 2022 Gazetted
The Hong Kong government has gazetted the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing (Amendment) Bill 2022, which will introduce changes to the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (the “AMLO”).
As we reported in November 2020 and May 2021, the Financial Services and the Treasury Bureau had consulted the public on proposed amendments to the AMLO. Read on to learn more about the amendments to the AMLO as reflected in the Bill, including amendments relating to the regime for regulating and licensing virtual asset trading platforms.
