Linklaters' Culture
Our Lisbon office consists of a really close-knit team. Wherever you work, and in whatever capacity, you’ll soon get to know everyone and feel part of the firm’s growth, development and success.
The environment is demanding, intelligent, a place where people are on top of their game - but it’s also incredibly supportive with an open door culture that encourages mutual respect and knowledge-sharing.
And that culture isn’t limited to Lisbon. We’re keen to give employees a global Linklaters experience, so that everyone has the opportunity to build relationships across the firm globally. At any given time, you could be liaising with colleagues from any one of our offices around the world. It’s invaluable personal exposure plus it also ensures that we can align the right people to our clients’ businesses on a vast scale.
Our learning and development focus is rather special too. Twice a month, local leading professors - who are expert in their fields – visit our offices and advise on a breadth of legal matters. Lawyers and staff also have access to a range of global Learning and Development programmes, which include legal and soft skills training. Every colleague benefits from a personal development plan which is tailored to individual needs and the particular challenges faced by the firm. What’s more, you’ll be given excellent recognition for your hard work and commitment, including a performance-related bonus.
Our attitude and passion for achievement is also felt outside the firm, with a strong community focus. One of the projects we’re most proud of is our ‘Time to Volunteer’ day when we go out into the community to help at a local project. These projects have so far included painting a local children’s after-school club, organising day trips for senior citizens and donating to several social service and aid institutions for the needy. We also share with our community the skills and expertise of all our staff through pro bono work.
