Regulatory Investigations Update - April 2014
The FCA’s first year has been dominated by a constant focus on culture. Pervading almost all areas of its operation, the message has been that firms must ensure, from the top down, that they institutionalise a mindset which constantly strives to put consumers first. Firms now face the challenge of assessing what that will mean for their own particular businesses and putting this into practice. This edition of the Regulatory Investigations Update includes reports on a further significant fine for retail advice failings and the FCA’s enforcement priorities for the year ahead. We also consider developments in respect of the burgeoning range of activity being undertaken by the FCA to pursue its competition objective, and the ways in which this may impact its approach to regulation, and to enforcement in particular.
